YOGA FOR EVERYONE

Our Styles of Yoga

Yoga Practice

HATHA/GENTLE YOGA FLOW

Gentle flow or gentle yoga is a softer approach to more dynamic yoga styles. While the poses still flow together, the nature of it is much slower in pace and gentle in practice. It is the in between of keeping active while still maintaining that peaceful and enjoyable approach. You move through a series of gentle yoga stretches and slow, mindful movements to calm mind and body. Gentle yoga is a great way to slow down, connect with your body, and calm your mind.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

Restorative yoga is a restful practice that holds yoga poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind.

CHAIR YOGA

Chair yoga is an ideal exercise for those suffering from conditions, such as chronic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoporosis, and multiple sclerosis. It may also benefit people over a certain age who have trouble moving through the up and down motions of traditional yoga. Chair yoga allows them to stay stabilized.

Meditation

MEDITATION

Meditation is a mind and body practice that has a long history of use for increasing calmness and physical relaxation, improving psychological balance, coping with illness, and enhancing overall health and well-being. Mind and body practices focus on the interactions among the brain, mind, body, and behavior. We offer many different styles of meditation including mindfulness, focused, guided, moving and mantra meditation.
